Fishy Business

Project Description & How to Play:

Welcome to your new job: Fishy Business! Here, you’ll have the opportunity to make a living by reeling in your catches from the Forbidden Lake filled with an endless supply of fish. Good luck with your earnings!

Fishy Business is a top-down fishing game in which the player fishes for a variety of fishy creatures–expanding their inventory and eventually selling their catches to earn money and upgrade their items. Fishy Business takes place in a peaceful oasis that serves as a home to the player’s shanty, a lively lake, flourishing greenery, and a little shop, which allow for a combination of fishing, selling, and buying. 

The main mechanics of Fishy Business include fishing, selling, and buying. To begin fishing, approach the lake and interact with it. Wait for fish to swim into view, then cast your line out near one. After the fish takes the bait, begin reeling it in–but be careful not to snap the line! Once caught, the fish will automatically be added to your inventory. If you wish to sell the fish, navigate to the shop menu and drag your item to the sell ($) slot. While in the shop, you may also purchase upgraded rods, lines, and bait that can then be equipped through the inventory menu.
